Title: Fangirl
Author: Rainbow Rowell
Genre: Romance, Young Adult
A Sentence Review:
The story of Cath Avery, a self-proclaimed, introverted fangirl with an extroverted twin sister and a manic father; told as she encounters new people and experiences as a college freshman, the anxiety of interaction with said new people, and the growth she goes through with their help, whether she likes it or not.
As always, commas and semicolons are a life-saver. ☺️
Just a little side-note here: if you’re looking for an adequate and true representation of fandom, look elsewhere. I’m not saying that some fangirls aren’t like Cath, but I don’t think most of us are as socially incompetent as her! Regardless, I did enjoy this book thoroughly, and anyway, I’m not the type to get salty about the misrepresentation of fangirls!
We all have our “Cath” moments, some more than others. This is a story about Cath, who is socially inept and just happens to be a fangirl. We support our brothers and sisters who feel this way, so let’s not exclude their experiences!
As always, don’t take my word for it! You should always give a book a chance if you think it looks interesting! I get my books from Book Depository cause it’s the cheapest place to get brand new books or editions, and this way I don’t feel so bad when I blow money on books I didn’t enjoy so much 😬. It’s got free delivery too! You can get Fangirl real cheap by clicking here. For like only S$6.90? That’s like more than 50% off?? WTH???
Did you read and enjoy Fangirl? I’ll be checking out Rainbow Rowell’s other books soon! Any recommendations? Leave a comment! Or maybe we can squee about anything fandom-related! I ship! I ship so much, bordering on too much, but there’s no such thing.
