Title: Ready Player One
Author: Ernest Cline
Genre: Action & Adventure, Science Fiction, Young Adult
A Sentence Review:
A thrilling book set in a dystopian future where everyone, especially the main character, is obsessed over 80s pop-culture references; where people are willing to fight and kill, not just in the virtual world but also the real world, for a prize that leads to staggering wealth.
And there you have it! This was one bodacious book; others must have felt the same since the movie’s coming out soon! If you’re a fan of the 80s, might as well give this book a shot, hey? It was a fun read!
Did you enjoy Ready Player One? Leave a comment and we can have an amped convo about obscure 80s pop-culture references we pretend to know from memory. Or maybe commiserate over how the author relied too much on 80s references in place of deeper characterisation. If you haven’t read it and want to, you can get it cheap from Book Depository here.
